Easy Apple Dumpling Recipe
Looking for a delicious dessert that’s easy to make and sure to impress? These apple dumplings are perfect for you. With a buttery, flaky crust and a sweet, cinnamon-spiced apple center, they’re irresistible!
Ingredients
2 large Granny Smith apples (or any tart apple you prefer)
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup orange juice (or substitute with lemon-lime soda for a different twist)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the Apples
Peel, core, and cut each apple into 8 wedges.
Wrap the Apples
Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Wrap each apple wedge in a triangle of dough, starting at the wide end. Pinch the dough to completely seal the apple inside.
Arrange in Baking Dish
Place the wrapped apple wedges in the greased baking dish, lined up in rows.
Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until thoroughly combined. Pour this mixture evenly over the apple dumplings.
Add the Liquid
Pour orange juice (or lemon-lime soda) around the edges of the baking dish, avoiding pouring directly over the dumplings.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
Serve
Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
Tips
For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle some chopped nuts or raisins inside each apple wedge before wrapping them with the dough.
You can prepare these apple dumplings in advance and reheat them when you’re ready to serve.
Happy baking!
