4 cups peeled, sliced peaches

2 cups sugar, divided

1/2 cup water

8 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk

Ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

2. In a saucepan, combine peaches, 1 cup of sugar, and water. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, then remove from heat.

3. Place butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish and melt in the preheating oven.

4. In a bowl, mix together the flour, remaining 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk until just mixed.

5. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish, but

do not stir.

6. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter gently, spreading the peaches around as evenly as possible. Again, do not stir.

7. Sprinkle the top with ground cinnamon, if desired.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown.

9. Serve the peach cobbler warm or cool, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Now enjoy this dessert. Perfect for any occasion!
